About

NSUN (the National Survivor User Network) is a membership organisation of grassroots, user-led groups working in and around mental health, and individuals with lived experience of mental ill-health, distress, or trauma. Our Members’ Event is our main annual event, along with the formal Annual General Meeting (taking place in Spring 2024), though we also run monthly Network Meetings to connect with members.

This year we held our Members’ Event sessions separately from the AGM (Annual General Meeting, the formal business meeting where members vote on motions, due to be held in Spring 2024). NSUN members will be notified of the AGM date, when it is confirmed, via email.

The sessions which took place as part of this event were only open to NSUN members or supporters.

Full NSUN membership is open to user-led groups and people who live with mental ill-health, trauma, or distress. You can also join the network as a supporter if you do not fit this criteria but are interested in NSUN’s work. You must sign up before registering to attend any Members’ Event sessions – you can join the network via our main website.

Please note that the AGM, when it happens, is only open to full NSUN members.

More about NSUN

The NSUN logo

NSUN is a membership organisation and a network of grassroots, user-led groups and people who have lived experience of mental distress, ill-health and trauma who come together to create, challenge, and campaign. As a user-led organisation, all of our staff members and trustees have lived experience.

We work to redistribute power and resource in mental health. We do this by:

  • Building, amplifying and distributing the knowledge that is held by people with lived experience
  • Creating collaborative spaces with members and partners to build momentum and sustainability for the work
  • Building an alternative approach to mental health policy work
  • Working with funders and acting as a microfunder to redistribute resources to grassroots user-led groups, as well as working to build capacity and sustainability in other, non-material ways.
